#MKETech Ecosystem Expands Talent Pipeline

Laura A. Schmidt, Chief Talent Development Officer, MKE Tech Hub Coalition

Technology is rapidly transforming traditional, essential industries through its embedding of technology into products and processes. This trend of “every business as a tech business” has accelerated the need for tech talent in the region. The Milwaukee Tech Hub Coalition is comprised of member companies and non-profit organizations committed to doubling the tech talent in the greater MKE region by 2025.

We want you to know that regardless of your background, there is a place for you in the #mketech ecosystem.

The Higher Education Regional Alliance is committed to working with industry to ensure a strong talent pipeline that supports the region’s workforce development and economic development goals. All campuses offer both degree programs and continuing education offerings to update your skills to take on a new role involved in the development or deployment of technical solutions within our major industries.

In addition, the Milwaukee Tech Hub Coalition features a ‘Reskilling Opportunities’ page to help those seeking opportunities to reskill into tech careers. This page includes online resources for independent learning, IT Apprenticeships, entry-level positions with staffing firms who will provide paid training to get you up and running quickly at major employers throughout MKE, opportunities for professional and tech skill development through our community partners, and much more!

Lastly, if you have a great idea for a new tech enabled product or service and want to develop new skills and access resources needed to take it to the next level, consider enrolling in FOR-M, an idea-stage incubator sponsored by the Milwaukee Tech Hub Coalition.
